Genting Skyway

GENTING SKYWAY

The Genting Skyway is one of two cable car systems serving the Genting Highlands, running between Gohtong Jaya and the highlands' top. While the Awana Skyway is the primary mode of transportation, the Genting Skyway is used when the former is being maintained or during peak periods such as weekends and public or school holidays.

Throughout its 3.4-kilometer journey, the gondola-style cable car provides stunning views of a 120-million-year-old rainforest, SkyAvenue Shopping Mall, Chin Swee Caves Temple, and the forthcoming 20th Century Fox Malaysia Theme Park in the highlands. You'll arrive at the Highlands Station in 15 to 20 minutes, depending on the weather.

The Genting Skyway is one of two aerial lines servicing Genting Highlands, and has been used as a backup route since the new Awana Skyway was closed for maintenance in August 2016. On February 21, 1997, Tun Dr Mahathir, Malaysia's fourth Prime Minister, formally launched the mono cable gondola lift.
